PRESS: Russia has no discussion of QR codes for Moscow shops
MOSCOW, Jul 7 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Industry and Trade Ministry does not discuss introduction of QR codes to prove vaccination against or recovery from COVID-19 for the Moscow stores like it was done for the restaurants and cafes, Deputy Minister Viktor Yevtukhov told daily Izvestiya on Wednesday.
“One thing is limitation on restaurants, and another in retail. It’s difficult to cope with a crowd to scan codes, and it can irritate the people,” Yevtukhov said.
The official hopes there will be no need in introduction of QR codes for non-food retail in view of the vaccination rate and generation of herd immunity.
The Moscow restaurants and cafes have been servicing the people with QR codes only from June 28.
